APLAY
Aplay was a collective art project between Angela Smailes and Alison Watters through the years 2015-2017.
These photographs document the final performance of APLAY held at The Playground in Vancouver 2017.
A comradeship was built between Angela and Allison, through a shared affinity for sculpture that disrupts recesses of expectation. The underlying, central tenet of our collective is to experience ‘reality raw’. We are always moving towards experiencing more acutely, through intense interaction with what is at hand. The result can look like sculpture, or a large installation, but it can also be a social interaction. Stimuli are appreciated in the moment and longevity of the experience is enabled by video, photos and recordings. This documentation provides raw material for further artwork.
